 Flame Powder Spraying

The main principle of the system is to direct thermal powders to the flame formed by acetylene and oxygen gas mixture and to spray molten or semi-molten thermal powders.

Metal and metal mixture thermal powders (iron, nickel, chromium, copper, aluminium based powders) are generally used as coating material.

During coating, the temperature of the workpiece is kept under control and no dimensional deformation is allowed in the coated parts. Coating thickness over 2 mm can be obtained with this method.

The coatings obtained by flame wire spraying are suitable for machining by turning and grinding. However, in some cases it is preferable to use the coating in its bare form. Some types of thermal powders also need to be melted by annealing after spraying.

The most common uses are to create a retaining surface and for impression restoration. Thermal powder spraying applications of coatings obtained by melting are made with Flame Powder Spraying systems
